Christmas 2014

Hello -- Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all,

Everything is fine here in Davis. John is now in High School, 9th grade, but he still attends Holmes Junior High while James is now in the 11th grade at Davis HS.

Nina and the boys visited her Father in Taiwan this summer.

Nina's California family is doing well and we exchanged visits with them often.

Tom is still working in IT with the Martinez School District in the SF Bay area. He rides his bike to the train station, loads the bike onboard and then continues to his office on the bike. Altogether it's about an hour and 15 minute commute, including the 5-mile-a-day bike ride.

Nina began teaching a Taiwanese language course through the Davis Chinese School this fault, which we have all bee attending.  She is quite a good teacher.

We are having a very wet winter in California so far this season, so we look forward to some time on the slopes.

We continue to be active in the Lake Washington Sailing Club, only a few miles from the house.  We sail there pretty frequently. James continues to be very interested in the sport. He, along with several other Davis HS student, formed a Davis HS Sailing Team competing in regattas in the SF bay area.

The Sailing club program to train and support area High School students continues.  Both James and Tom have been participating in this program.

John became interested in karate this year. He trains regularly and has become very skilled. He also has joined the badminton club at the High School and has become quite proficient.

Nina continues to take wonderful care of all of her "boys" and seems to make the best of it!

Loppy the rabbit is still with us and John continues to be his favorite.

Wishing you all the best -- He is born!

Hello -- Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all,

Everything is fine here in Davis. After a year together, both boys are once again at different schools, John is an 8th grader at Holmes Junior High while James is in his first year at Davis HS as a 10th grader.

Nina and the boys visited her Father in Taiwan this summer and Tom and the boys spent a week in Ohio with his Mother.

They also had a fun backpacking trip into the Sierras.

James joined the wrestling team and has found it challenging and interesting.

Unusually dry winter in California last season.  Tom did not ski one day - the first time since 1967 that he was not on the slopes.

We continue to be active in the Lake Washington Sailing Club, only a few miles from the house.  We sail there pretty frequently. James became very interested in the sport. He, along with several other Davis HS student, formed a Davis HS Sailing Team competing in regattas in the SF bay area.

The Sailing club also began a program to train and support area High School students in these events.  Both James and Tom have been participating in this program.

John became interested in karate this year. He trains regularly and has become quite proficient. He still plays the guitar and surprises us how easily he can figure out just about any melody.
